Rams could rest starters in regular-season finale vs. 49ers

After starting 0-9, the 49ers could end their season on a five-game winning streak with the final two victories coming against division champions.

The chances of doing just that seemingly improved Tuesday when Rams head coach Sean McVay suggested he would be resting some starters when Los Angeles hosts the 49ers on Sunday.

The Rams will host a wild-card playoff game, but don’t know if they will be a No. 3 or No. 4 seed.

“Being locked into that 3rd or 4th seed — every single game is important — but I think it will provide an opportunity for us to potentially get some guys healthier, rest them, give some other guys a chance to step up,” McVay said, via the Rams website.
