A year ago, San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch showed he could make some hits on late-round NFL Draft picks. Wide receiver Trent Taylor and tight end George Kittle were both taken in Round 5 of the 2017 draft, while safety Adrian Colbert was snagged up with the Niners’ final pick in Round 7.
All three went on to have significant roles their rookie seasons, and now Kittle is looking like the gem of that year’s draft class.
Lynch’s 2018 class hasn’t quite shown the late-round day-three finds, although it’s still quite early.
