If Chip Kelly has to make an argument to keep his job next week, what will he say to CEO Jed York?
We probably heard one of his talking points Wednesday when Kelly was asked about wide receivers Jeremy Kerley and Rod Streater, both of whom joined the 49ers shortly before the start of the regular season.
After touching on the contributions from Kerley and Streater, Kelly noted that those just-arrived guys weren’t alone: None of the five wideouts on the current 53-man roster played a snap for the 49ers in 2015.
Left unsaid: Those pass-catchers - Kerley, Streater, Chris Harper, DeAndre Smelter and rookie Aaron Burbridge - aren’t particularly accomplished.
