According to CBS Sports’ John Breech, the San Francisco 49ers own the 11th toughest strength of schedule heading into the 2019 regular season.
Breech’s analysis accounts only for 2018 records, of course, and there are so many other factors weighing into how this year’s NFL schedule pans out. Remember, parity in the league is as real as it gets, meaning few offseason predictions ever wind up becoming totally accurate.
That said, the Niners’ 2019 schedule isn’t particularly easy.
A year ago, head coach Kyle Shanahan’s squad had just one trip to the Eastern Time Zone — a Week 12 trip to visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the bye week, and that resulted in a 27-9 demolishing by a bad Bucs team, which the 49ers face again to open up this season.
