Photos: 49ers playoff halftime show a hip-hop throwback

The halftime show at the San Francisco 49ers’ playoff game took fans back in time musically to decade when the team was dominant.

Tone Loc, Young MC and the Sugarhill Gang — performers who topped the charts in the late 1970s and 1980s — entertained the crowd. The acts are best known as hip-hop pioneers with hits such as “Wild Thing,” “Bust a Move” and “Rapper’s Delight.” They performed their hits to a packed audience with the 49ers mascot, Sourdough Sam, getting into the act.
