The San Francisco 49ers held their annual alumni weekend in Week 7, and it was perfect timing. The 49ers unveiled a pair of statues to commemorate The Catch prior to the game, and then honored the 1994 Super Bowl champion 49ers at halftime. The statues feature Joe Montana and Dwight Clark, and the idea was developed after Clark’s passing from ALS complications.
It was an ugly defeat for the 49ers, but the pre-game festivities were touching. The team welcomed a host of former players, including Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, Ronnie Lott, Eric Wright, Tim McKyer, and Joe Montana.
