Phil Dawson recently discussed his number change, and getting his deal done for 2016.
The San Francisco 49ers will bring back veteran kicker Phil Dawson for his fourth training camp with the team, and his 18th in the NFL. The 41-year old kicker had a very strong season in 2015, and shows no signs of slowing down.
One thing that will change is his number. Dawson will wear No. 4 after spending three seasons in No. 9. Former punter Andy Lee wore No. 4 for his 11 seasons with the team, before he was traded to the Cleveland Browns.
