San Francisco 49ers offensive line coach was running drills at the Notre Dame pro day. The Fighting Irish have a tackle that may interest the 49ers with their first round pick and a middle linebacker that could be a nice addition as well.
Well, this is interesting. Matt Barrows tweeted Thursday that San Francisco 49ers offensive line coach Pat Flaherty was running o-line drills at Notre Dame's pro day. This is interesting because as Barrows points out, ND tackle Ronnie Stanley, could be the 49ers pick in the first round of the 2016 draft.
Stanley wouldn't exactly be a sexy pick like taking a quarterback, and he's definitely not mocked as much as a quarterback for the 49ers, but he's been projected to go in the top 10 in several mock drafts with the assumption he could start right away.
