Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Panthers have been awarded OT John Theus off of waivers from the 49ers on Thursday.
- The Panthers also placed DB Cole Luke on injured reserve.
Theus, 23, is a former fifth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2016. He signed a four-year, $2.59 million contract with the 49ers and stands to make base salaries of 540,000 and $630,000 over the next two years of the agreement.
The 49ers waived Theus on Wednesday to make room for LB Elijah Lee, who was signed off of the Vikings’ practice squad.
