Former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks has quickly found a new home. NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted that Brooks has agreed to a one-year contract with the Green Bay Packers that could be worth up to $5 million.
The 49ers released Brooks last Friday, declaring Eli Harold the winner for the SAM linebacker competition. Brooks entered training camp seemingly the front-runner, and when Harold suffered a concussion early in camp, it seemed like Brooks was a lock for the roster. However, Harold returned, and the team was sufficiently impressed with him to move on from a veteran like Brooks.
