Per Tom Pelissero, San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Shon Coleman has opted out of the 2020 regular season. Coleman beat lymphoblastic leukemia as a teenager, so you wonder how much his previous health conditions and family played a part in Coleman’s decision to opt-out. That would suggest Coleman qualifies for the “high risk” opt-out stipend of $350,000.
Coleman was going to be on the fringe of making the 49ers roster this season. The team drafted Colton McKivitz, and have Justin Skule as their swing tackle.
