SANTA CLARA – They were focused on the present, not really looking ahead to a time when they would be wearing different uniforms and matched up against each other.
There will be a lot of history at play on Sunday when 49ers wide receiver Torrey Smith lines up against Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith at Levi’s Stadium.
In 2011, Jimmy Smith was the Ravens’ first-round draft pick. Torrey Smith was the Ravens’ selection in the second round. They were teammates for four seasons, going up against each other regularly in practices. And both played key roles in Baltimore’s 34-31 victory over the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII.
