No. 9? 49ers on hand for pass rusher Marcus Davenport's pro day | The Sacramento Bee

San Francisco defensive line coach Jeff Zgonina was on hand for Marcus Davenport's pro day Wednesday, helping put the University of Texas-San Antonio defensive end through drills in front of scouts from all 32 teams.

Many consider Davenport the second-best defensive end in the upcoming draft behind N.C. State's Bradley Chubb. That makes him a possibility for the 49ers at the No. 9 pick.

Davenport stands 6-6, weighs 264 pounds and has long, nearly 34-inch arms, making him -- on paper, at least -- a nice fit for the so-called "Leo" position the 49ers have had trouble filling since last season.
