The NFL could have another public relations nightmare on its hands if any of the four Raiders players who went to Mexico last week happens to test positive for performance-enhancing substances.
Raiders players Malcolm Smith, Justin Ellis, TJ Carrie and Taiwan Jones all took the trip to Mexico City last week to participate in a fan fest in conjunction with the NFL Draft and go on a media tour to help promote the team's game with the Houston Texans scheduled for Nov. 21 at Aztec Stadium.It had to be disconcerting to them when the NFL released a memo to players, which was posted on Twitter by several of them on Tuesday, warning that "There is evidence that some meat produced in China and Mexico may be contaminated with clenbuterol, an anabolic agent which is banned by the NFL Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances.
