The NFL closed facilities for all 32 teams on March 25, with limited access for rehabbing players and those helping them rehab, to combat the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Starting on Tuesday, May 19, however, teams can begin returning on a limited basis in accordance with local guidelines. The 49ers reportedly will not be one of those teams.
ESPN's Nick Wagoner reported Sunday that as Santa Clara is yet to begin Phase 2 of California's reopening, the 49ers' doors mostly will remain locked.

As of Saturday night, NBC Bay Area reports Santa Clara County leads the Bay Area in coronavirus cases (2,418) and deaths (135).
