Baylor cornerback Derrek Thomas has reportedly taken a visit to Santa Clara to meet with the 49ers.
Thomas (6-foot-3, 189 pounds) ran 4.44 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. He is an exceptional athlete, with a 39.5-inch vertical leap and a 131-inch mark in the broad jump. But he lacks significant strength, bench-pressing 225 pounds just eight times.
Thomas has also visited the Dallas Cowboys, met with the Minnesota Vikings and had personal workouts with the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins, reported Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.
