Very few things went right for the San Francisco 49ers in their Week 2 contest on the road versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 43-18 losing score only tells part of the story. San Francisco was trailing 29-3 entering the fourth quarter. The defense couldn’t touch Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and let wide receiver Antonio Brown run rampant. The savvy Pittsburgh target amassed 195 receiving yards and one touchdown during the game.
San Francisco’s secondary couldn’t figure out a way to stop Roethlisberger and the Steelers’ passing attack, which made the situation appear as if Pittsburgh could, literally, score at will.
