LATEST Aug. 5, 4:15 p.m. The little-known reporter who started the latest round of rumors about San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk has doubled down on his report, even as more established NFL insiders are refuting his information.
Cam Marino, a self-identified “national NFL analyst,” posted on X at 1:26 p.m. Monday saying the 49ers and Steelers had reached an agreement to send Aiyuk to Pittsburgh. The post followed up a prior report from Marino on Friday night about Aiyuk trade discussions, and another post earlier Monday saying Pittsburgh was Aiyuk’s “preferred destination.”
However, several other NFL insiders have disputed Marino’s report.
