NBA Finals: Terrell Owens back in Bay Area, seeks 49ers reunion

OAKLAND — Terrell Owens, a day after appealing to the 49ers to reactivate his Hall of Fame career, was back in the Bay Area on Sunday.

Alas, it was as a spectator at Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

So begins The Summer of T.O., which should be highlighted Aug. 4 with his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

Owens, 44, also attended last year’s NBA Finals, and this was not the only Bay Area return he’d like to make. He lobbied 49ers general manager John Lynch via Twitter on Saturday to sign him out of retirement (or seven-year hiatus from his playing days).
