The Alliance of American Football kicked off its inaugural season on Saturday, and it wasn’t half bad. The quality is not NFL level, but there is some intriguing talent that will draw viewers in during the offseason.
It should be no surprise that the Steve Spurrier-coached Orlando Apollos were the big winner on Saturday, beating the Atlanta Legends 40-6. The San Antonio Commanders won a slightly uglier matchup, beating the San Diego Fleet 15-6. Keith Reaser (Apollos) was the most notable ex-49ers player to see action, finishing with five tackles and coverage on two incomplete passes.
