SANTA CLARA — Mike McGlinchey and the rest of the 49ers offensive line knew they would have their hands full trying to slow down a Denver Broncos pass rush that came into Sunday tied for fifth in NFL with 37 sacks in 12 games.
The results weren’t bad. Nick Mullens was sacked twice in the first half and once in the second, but stayed upright enough to throw for 332 yards and two touchdowns in the 49ers’ 20-14 win at Levi’s Stadium.
McGlinchey may have had the toughest task of anyone in a home uniform Sunday.
The 49ers’ 2018 first round draft pick out of Notre Dame consistently lined up against Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller, who entered the game with 12.
