The San Francisco 49ers have seen another one of their free agents land a new job. Linebacker Michael Wilhoite has signed with the Seattle Seahawks, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport.
Wilhoite worked his way up from the 49ers practice squad, eventually earning a starting role. He took over as starting inside linebacker in 2014 when NaVorro Bowman tore up his knee. Wilhoite remained in the starting lineup in 2015 after Patrick Willis retired. In 2016, the 49ers ended up in an extensive rotation at inside linebacker. He appeared in all 16 games, but was listed as a starter in only six.
