In the aftermath of 49ers rookie Ricky Pearsall surviving an attempted robbery in which he was shot in the chest, the prevailing message quickly shifted from worry to obnoxious admiration.
Pearsall was injured Saturday afternoon in Union Square when a 17-year-old allegedly attempted to rob him and shot him in the ensuing scuffle. The bullet went through Pearsall’s torso and, according to his mother, narrowly avoided hitting any vital organs.
