Keshawn Martin has become the latest new addition to the 49ers’ underwhelming wide receiver corps.
The 49ers have signed Martin, 26, to a two-year contract after he was released by the Patriots during their final roster cuts earlier this month. Martin, a 2012 fourth-round pick, has 62 catches for 685 yards and five touchdowns in a career spent with the Texans (2012-14) and Patriots (2015).
Last year, Martin had career-highs in catches (24) and yards (269) in New England, where he made eight of his 10 career starts.
Martin fills the roster spot created when right tackle Anthony Davis retired Monday.
