SANTA CLARA — Davonte Lynch stood on the 49ers home field in a red, No. 33 jersey and admitted Wednesday it was an odd look. After all, his older brother, Marshawn, plays up the road for the Bay Area’s other team, the Lynch’s family’s hometown Raiders.
“Growing up in Oakland, you feel me, it’s always been kind of a rivalry with the Niners,” Davonte said after an hour workout for local draft prospects. “But at this point of my life, it’s like, I’d be honored to play for the 49ers.”
He played collegiately for New Mexico Highlands from 2015-16 after transferring from Contra Costa College, and he believes his size (5-foot-7, 188 pounds) may be why NFL teams have overlooked him.
