Second-year linebacker Aaron Lynch is quickly becoming a strong presence within a suspect San Francisco 49ers defense in 2015.
San Francisco’s fifth-round selection of the 2014 NFL draft made a showing of himself during his first year at the pro level. He was tied with fellow linebacker Ahmad Brooks with six sacks that year, and Lynch quickly looks as if he’ll be able to eclipse that on the young 2015 season.
With perennial pass-rushing linebacker Aldon Smith no longer in the 49ers’ picture, Lynch needed to step up in a way that would ensure the 49ers’ pass rush would be effective enough this year.
