SANTA CLARA — The Super Bowl is not coming back to Levi’s Stadium as early as the 49ers once hoped. Their hunt, however, remains alive to again host the game — and, of course, actually win the Lombardi Trophy for the first time since 1995.
A year after the 49ers said they’d bid to host Super Bowl 57 or 58, those 2023 and 2024 games will be awarded to Arizona and New Orleans, according to a Monday morning by the SportsBusiness Journal’s Daniel Kaplan.
The 49ers have turned their focus on landing the 2025 or 2026 Super Bowl, by which time a massive, mixed-use development should be completed next door to Levi’s Stadium.
