Another step in the Deebo Samuel trade saga was taken on Tuesday, and it was seemingly a positive one for the San Francisco 49ers.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said that the wide receiver is expected to attend the team’s mandatory minicamp next month, along with other notable stars like Nick Bosa and Trent Williams.
Attendance is required and absences can be punished with six-figure fines, but it was no lock that Samuel would attend after demanding a trade earlier this year.
The public part of the saga began on April 20, when the All-Pro player made his trade demand through ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington.
