The San Francisco 49ers looked to add to their receiver room in 2024, as they drafted Florida’s Ricky Pearsall in the first round and Arizona’s Jacob Cowing in the fourth round to complement their starting core of Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and Jauan Jennings.
While there was trade chatter and speculation with this position group in particular, the 49ers ultimately elected to keep their core together as they make a push in hopes of a championship once again in 2024.
With the addition of two extra receivers, many believed that the 49ers may shift their offensive identity to involve more three-receiver sets, which has become more of the norm in a more pass-happy NFL nowadays.
