Eric Reid knew it was coming.
Back in November, he predicted it: The young and versatile safety — one of the better players at his position in the NFL — would hit free agency, but wouldn’t find a job.
“If I’m not in the league next year, there will be a process I will go through,” Reid told me. “My focus is going to be to finish this season. If I enter free agency and I’m not on a team next year, I’ll weigh all my options, legally, what have you.”
And Reid had a not-so-sneaking suspicious as to why that might be the case.
