SANTA CLARA — Jimmy Garoppolo said “hell yeah” he will wear a brace on his left knee this season as he returns from an anterior cruciate ligament tear.
Consider that part of the precautions put in place for the 49ers star quarterback with this week’s start of the offseason program.
Garoppolo said “the goal” is to be medically cleared for all activity once training camp arrives in late July, and even he noted there’s “a lot of time between then and now.”
As for when 7-on-7 drills start in two weeks, the medical staff and coaches have “come up with a game plan, trying to be a little precautious, but I’d love to be out there,” Garoppolo added.
