SANTA CLARA -- Colin Kaepernick is sticking to his plan to donate $1 million by the start of the next NFL season.
The 49ers quarterback, who grabbed national attention when he refused to stand for the national anthem five months ago, has donated another $100,000 to groups benefitting everything from nutrition in Minnesota to health care for Standing Rock Sioux Tribe members in North Dakota.
Kaepernick began donating $100,000 a month beginning in October. Each of the organizations addresses social issues and racial inequality, which sparked Kaepernick's anthem stance. The donations are listed on his website, www.
