In the fourth quarter, QB Colin Kaepernick, who finished the game 1/5 with 4 yards (yes you read that right), was benched for backup QB Blaine Gabbert. In an ugly, ugly game, the 49ers fell to the lowly Chicago Bears by a final score of 26-6.
At the end of the first quarter, neither QB Matt Barkley or Kaepernick had any completions. Presumably because of the snow, both teams focused heavily on the run game. After both teams traded punts, for quite a while, the 49ers finally blocked one, but stepped out of bounds at the 4-yard line running it back.
