In some ways, it’s good the San Francisco 49ers get an early bye week this season.
While most would argue a mid- or late-season bye week is more beneficial, the Niners can take some advantage of their Week 4 break to fine tune some much-needed aspects on both sides of the ball.
And one of those is getting rookie offensive tackle Justin Skule up to snuff.
Skule is, of course, filling in for injured veteran tackle Joe Staley, who is out with a broken fibula and will be out for at least another five weeks.
