Hopefully, San Francisco 49ers fans, you’ve had the chance to wipe away the tears and clear the shock following the news quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo won’t be a part of the team’s on-field efforts for the rest of 2018.
Garoppolo is done for the year, of course, after suffering a season-ending ACL tear late in the fourth quarter of the Niners’ 38-27 defeat at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3.
And you know the play — Garoppolo, who was scrambling left and trying to run upfield, chose to take a step back inside rather than go out of bounds.
