Jim Harbaugh, the target of disturbing threats on social media beginning last weekend, broke his public silence on Thursday.
“It’s a serious matter,” Harbaugh told the Detroit News.”I’m confident our administration and university officials will take the proper steps and are taking the proper steps.”
Asked if he felt threatened Harbaugh said, “That’s all I’m going to say about it.”
Harbaugh graduated from Palo Alto High School and was head coach at Stanford and with the San Francisco 49ers.
The messages appear to have been sent by Elysee Mbem-Bosse, a one-time linebacker at Michigan who left the team in November.
