In early April, before the draft, edge rusher Ronald Blair visited the 49ers. On April 8, a report surfaced that Ronald Blair was expected to re-sign with San Francisco, pending a physical.
That physical must not have worked out as the Niners elected to sign Arden Key over Blair, who missed all of 2020 after suffering a setback during his ACL recovery and after missing the final half of the 2019 season.
Blair is back with a familiar face, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, but it won’t be with the 49ers. Blair signed with the New York Jets, where former Niners defensive coordinator Robert Saleh is now the head coach.
