SANTA CLARA – Running back Jerick McKinnon was back at practice Tuesday after missing the past 18 days after undergoing a treatment on his surgically repaired right knee.
McKinnon was removed from the physically unable perform list earlier in training camp but participated in just two practices before experiencing a setback. McKinnon underwent a platelet-rich plasma treatment.
The 49ers hope McKinnon will be available to play at or near the beginning of the regular season.
McKinnon sustained a season-ending torn ACL in his right knee a week before the start of last season.
Running back Raheem Mostert, who sat out the game Saturday in Kansas City with a quad contusion, also returned to practice on Tuesday.
