The San Francisco 49ers busy week of roster moves included with a player-for-player swap with the Detroit Lions. San Francisco sent guard Brandon Thomas to Detroit in exchange for wide receiver Jeremy Kerley.
“Jeremy gives us some depth as a slot receiver,” offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins told reporters on Monday. “He also gives us some versatility as a returner, so he’s added depth that we really need, and I think he’ll be able to get caught up to speed fairly quickly.”
The former TCU star was taken by the New York Jets in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
