Josina Anderson reported that the San Francisco 49ers have agreed to a one-year deal with cornerback Jason Verrett. The Niners general manager John Lynch confirmed the signing:
Ian Rapoport said that Verrett had a multi-year offer on the table but decided to bet on himself again. Verrett’s deal is worth $5.5 million, which could turn into $6.5 million if Verrett makes the Pro Bowl.
Based on Verrett’s season last year, the 49ers are getting a great deal. They now have Verrett, and Emmanuel Moseley locked in as their starters.
