As Jarryd Hayne is back for his second season with the 49ers, he’s dispelling yet again the notion he would return to his native Australia and reignite his rugby-league career.
Such chatter followed Hayne across the Pacific Ocean since he joined the 49ers a year ago, and he’s gotten used to “annoying” and “disappointing” reports out of Australia about his possible comeback there.
“I guess it was disappointing, but that’s the media back home, whether it’s to sell papers or get more viewers,” Hayne told a mix of American and Australian reporters Wednesday at the 49ers facility.
