Len Rohde, an ironman offensive lineman who shares the 49ers’ record for consecutive games played, died Saturday night at 79.
Mr. Rohde spent his 15-year career (1960-74), with the 49ers and played in 208 straight games.
“It’s one of those things that just creeps up on you and you don’t realize,” Mr. Rohde, speaking of his streak, told 49ers.com in 2008. “You don’t set out to do something like that; you take things one at a time and all of a sudden you realize you’ve got a string going. And then you hope you can hang on.
