DETROIT -– Running back Jarryd Hayne will be in uniform Sunday for the first time in more than two months.
Hayne, whom the 49ers promoted from the practice squad on Sunday, will be among the team’s 46 active players against the Detroit Lions. The 49ers placed guard Alex Boone on injured reserve to clear a roster spot for Hayne, the former star in Australia’s National Rugby League.
Hayne, Kendall Gaskins and DuJuan Harris are the 49ers’ only three running backs after Shaun Draughn was ruled out with a knee sprain. The 49ers signed Harris last week and waived running back Travaris Cadet.
