SANTA CLARA — When Dwight Clark first called Roger Craig to disclose his ALS diagnosis, the former 49ers running back fell apart.
“It really hit me hard. I cried like a baby,” he said.
But eventually Craig decided to do something about it. Recalling the way Clark taught him how to run routes back the 49ers glory days, Craig is off and running again.
Craig will participate in the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Jose Series event Sunday, as he always does. (He’s the co-founder of the event).
But this time he’ll do so partly as a fundraiser.
