You’ll be shocked to learn the 49ers roster depth features a lot of questions.
A couple years ago, CBS Sports analyst Pat Kirwan put together a look at the importance of roster depth for a team hoping to win a Super Bowl. He developed a list of 13 questions that require a “yes” answer in order for a team to qualify as having sufficient depth. It’s obviously not a perfect list, but it’s a good mental exercise.
We’ve talked plenty this offseason about the 49ers roster issues. Some people are convinced this team can contend, but I think most recognize this is a re-building process.
