The San Francisco 49ers added to their running back room with a trade-up in the 2024 NFL Draft, selecting Louisville running back Isaac Guerendo with the No. 129 pick.
Guerendo, a 6’1, 220-pound running back, spent the final year of his collegiate career at Louisville after transferring from Wisconsin, where injuries derailed his opportunities.
Now, he’ll join a 49ers room as a bigger-bodied, speedy back that could ultimately replace Elijah Mitchell, who is set to be a free agent after this season.
How does Guerendo fit the 49ers?
Guerendo’s calling card is his elite speed at his frame, which complements his one-cut style well, making him a similar player to Elijah Mitchell.
