With all of the bad news that has come from this and other websites regarding the San Francisco 49ers, it is time we report something you can celebrate: Today is Joe Montana‘s birthday.
Granted, Montana won’t be winning the 49ers any more Super Bowls soon, but the best quarterback to ever play in the NFL is always worth celebrating, and even more so on his special day!
Joe Montana was drafted out of Notre Dame in the 3rd round of the 1979 draft by the 49ers. While at Notre Dame he had a solid career, though not superb, in addition to a Cotton Bowl victory his senior year, nicknamed the “Chicken Soup” Bowl due to Montana being sick and reportedly consuming some chicken soup before leading the Fighting Irish to victory in the second half.
