Get your induction speeches ready, Charles Haley.
Haley, the former 49ers defensive end/linebacker who will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August, will also become the 26th inductee in the 49ers Hall of Fame this year. Haley, 51, will be recognized at halftime of the 49ers’ season opener against the Vikings at Levi’s Stadium on Sept. 14.
The back-to-back honors come after a prolonged wait for Haley, the only player to earn five Super Bowl rings who was a two-time NFC Defensive Player of the Year and five-time Pro Bowl selection. Haley was one of 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame for five straight years before he broke through in January.
