MIAMI GARDENS -- Colin Kaepernick was hot to start the game, but San Francisco's defense has wilted on its last two drives and the 49ers trail 14-7.
The 49ers quarterback, who drew attention in South Florida with his midweek defense of Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro, was met with a chorus of boos when he and the offense took the field for their first possession.
Kaepernick completed three of four passes on the drive, including a touchdown toss Carlos Hyde. His only incompletion was a drop in the end zone by tight end Vance McDonald. Kaepernick is 9-14 for 63 yards and a 98.
