Darius Swinton II has spent seven years in the NFL — the last three as an assistant special teams coach for John Fox‘s teams in Denver and Chicago.
Swinton’s special teams units had more success in Denver than they did in Chicago, but this was largely due to the Broncos’ better personnel relative to the Bears.
While Swinton had a role in shaping units at both of these stops — as well as the special teams units in St. Louis and Kansas City previously as a special teams quality control coach — his newest opportunity with the San Francisco 49ers will be Swinton’s biggest chance to prove himself.
